Solicitor Ordinances
The District does not (and cannot) implement any rules or restrictions regarding solicitors. However, the City of Thornton's ordinances regarding solicitors does apply to the Amber Creek neighborhood.
City of Thornton Ordinances Regarding solicitors
Section 38-1 of the City of Thornton's ordinances defines "solicitors" as any individual, whether a resident of the City or not, who engages in or attempts to engage in any type of contact for any purpose at a point of entry to any private residence.
Section 38-180 of the City of Thornton's ordinances states:

"(a) It shall be unlawful for any solicitor to solicit at a private residence whereon a sign has been conspicuously displayed with the words "no solicitors" or "no soliciting."
(b) It shall be unlawful for any solicitor to remain on a private residence after the occupant requests the solicitor to leave, whether or not any "no solicitors" or "no soliciting" signs have been displayed." |

The City has empowered its municipal courts to assess fines and/or jail time on those individuals who violate City ordinances.
